I remember meeting you last year on bid day and thinking how gorgeous and put together and therefore utterly intimidating you looked. Then, after talking to you just once on bid day, I realized that you are the sweetest person probably ever and I knew that we would be close friends. You’ve never faltered from being the strong, caring, and of course, beautiful person that I met on bid day, and I’m so lucky to call you my sister.
I remember the first time that you came over to my dorm was on Halloween, and we had such a great time getting ready. Your costume was AMAZING and crafty and I couldn’t believe that I had made such a fast sister-friend and I was so grateful to have you around. One of my other best memories with you is going to the Patriot’s Parade after the Super Bowl! I’m not even that much of a football fan (and especially not a Patriot’s fan, don’t hate me) but the parade that day was so much fun, even if we did get soaking wet in the snow. I so admire your ability to look at the upside side of everything and I’m pretty sure your positivity is the reason I didn’t cry when I realized that my winter parka could, in fact, get soaked all the way through.
There is one moment in our friendship that really stands out to me and that I feel like perfectly describes you as a friend and as a sister. I was feeling pretty homesick after not being home all semester, and you invited me over for a “slumby” at your house. It was the first time that I had been in an actual house instead of a dorm room since the semester started and honestly, it made me feel so much less homesick. Your entire family welcomed me, Siena, Ariel, and Kayla into their home with open arms and I was so grateful for that at a time when I was missing my own family so much.
Emily, I can’t thank you enough for being such a great friend over the past year. I can’t tell you the number of times that your name has come up in a conversation with other sisters and it really is amazing how much everyone loves and admires you. You have such a kind heart and Eta Kappa is so lucky to have you as one of our amazing sisters.
