When I first met you on Bid Day, I was instantly drawn to your warm and friendly personality. Although Bid Day was a whirlwind of new faces and names, I could already tell you were going to be a loving and loyal sister.
I remember one of the first times we hung out, when we went ice skating over Winter break. We planned to meet and skate at the outdoor ice rink at City Hall Plaza. But, the plan quickly unraveled when we realized the ice rink was closed. We tried to infiltrate from multiple directions, but apparently, we didn’t get the memo that they closed after New Year’s. Naturally we were both disappointed but, you maintained such a positive outlook, suggesting we try the Frog Pond instead. On the way, we stopped for lunch. I was amazed by your ability to talk about absolutely any topic while keeping the conversation personable, it is a rare quality. At the Frog Pond, I discovered that I cannot skate as well as I thought. You encouraged me to keep trying and held my hand as we skated. After a few times around the rink with little improvement I was going to hang up my skates. Instead, you suggested we rent one of those mini seals that little kids get pushed around on. You ended up pushing me around the rink even though I looked like an oversized child. But, you never once complained and it ended up being a really fun day!
You are one of my favorite people, I am always excited to spend time with you. Your laugh is infectious and you always have a funny story to tell. You are one of the coolest gals I know, you are always up for an adventure and welcome new experiences with open arms. You can dance to just about any song no matter where you are. Somehow you manage to make majoring in chemical /bio (something lol) look like a walk in the park. You are an extremely talented equestrian putting the Saddle Club to shame. No matter how long we’ve gone without seeing each other, I feel like we always pick up where we left off.
Angie, Over the past year, I have gotten to know you better and I can honestly say you have had such a positive impact on my life. You are unapologetically and fearlessly yourself. Your positivity rubs off on everyone who is lucky enough to call you a friend and sister. I am eternally thankful Kappa Delta brought us together and I can’t wait for our next adventure!
